The Sea Pines Resort is proud to offer the services of both walking caddies and forecaddies at our iconic Harbour Town Golf Links, Heron Point by Pete Dye, our newest course, and our timeless Ocean Course. The caddie program, established in 2007, has quickly become the hallmark of the golf experience at The Sea Pines Resort. Walking with a caddie is by far the best way to enjoy the natural setting and spectacular wildlife of our Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary golf courses in The Sea Pines Resort.
The knowledge and guidance of a caddie has proved tremendously helpful for any player navigating either the dramatic angles and shifting elevations of Heron Point or tackling the tricky winds off the Calibogue Sound on the feared par-4 18th hole of Harbour Town Golf Links. These Pete Dye-designed courses place a premium on finesse, imagination and shot-making, rather than strength, and having a caddie by your side makes for a truly remarkable and memorable experience.
Our professional caddies are employees of The Sea Pines Resort and some have been with the resort since the inception of the caddie program. They assist in reading greens and providing accurate yardages, and offer invaluable strategic insight for playing each hole. In addition to their help with playing our golf courses, they hold a wealth of knowledge regarding the history of Sea Pines and Hilton Head Island, other resort amenities and the environment surrounding the golf courses - essentially acting as an on-course concierge for all of our golfers.
Caddie Gratuities
The Sea Pines Resort recommends the following minimum gratuities: $65 per bag for a walking caddie and $25 per bag for a forecaddie. The amount of any gratuity is at the discretion of each player. However, our caddies take what they do very seriously and our hope is that your caddie's performance will exceed your expectations and warrant at least the recommended amounts stated above. Our experienced staff will assist you in maintaining the expectations of The Sea Pines Resort's pace of play policy and ensure you enjoy your round of golf.
For all guest rounds at Harbour Town Golf Links, the resort requires one forecaddie per tee time. Because Harbour Town Golf Links is cart path-only on a year-round basis, walking with a caddie is truly the best way to experience the golf course. Your forecaddie or walking caddie will provide an invaluable service: sharing course knowledge, providing accurate yardages, assisting in club selection, reading greens and performing course maintenance duties. The resort also accepts requests for forecaddies and walking caddies for all guest rounds at Heron Point by Pete Dye and Ocean Course.
