From the moment you arrive at this unique Baynard Cove home, you’ll feel as if you’ve been magically transported to the West Indies’ island of St. Bart’s. Its exotic entryway with pale turquoise shutters and double wooden doors reveal an enclosed, open-air courtyard with a charm all its own. There is a ceramic wall-mounted waterfall in the corner, tropical plants and shuttered double front doors.
Entering these doors, you remain captivated by the home’s terracotta tile floors, stuccoed walls and the water view instantly seen through the open living room and wall of windows. The single-level home hugs the pool and deck with an abundance of seating, a dining table and rocking chairs, for enjoying the incredible backyard and waterscape.
Beyond the foyer, a conversation area with relaxed seating flows into the well-appointed kitchen with white tile countertops, stainless steel appliances and a butcher block island. A dining room with wooden table seats eight with chairs and a bench. There is a wetbar, convenient to the deck for easy outdoor entertaining. A spacious, high-ceilinged living room, with two walls of sliding glass doors to the pool, features an L-shaped sofa, flat screen TV and VCR/DVD combo.
Viewing the marsh and evening sunsets, the luxurious master suite has pale blue stuccoed walls, a soaring sandstone-hued wood vaulted ceiling, a king-sized bed and access to its own deck. Its private bathroom has a beach motif with tile-surrounded tub, an oversized stone shower and double vanity. Interesting touches like white tile wainscoting, blue stucco walls and tropical accessories make this bathroom a haven.
Toward the front of the house is another bedroom, with seating area, which accesses the entryway courtyard. This room, in gentle yellows and blues, has a queen-sized bed with rattan headboard, a large flat screen TV and DVD, plus a private bathroom with shower and tile vanity.
A third nautically-themed bedroom features a queen-sized bed, TV/VCR combo and shares a bathroom with the fourth bedroom. Adorned in cheerful blues and yellows, this room houses twin beds and a TV/VCR combo.
A private dock, for crabbing or sunset watching, reaches into the tidal marsh. Only a short bike ride to the beach or Harbour Town, this is truly a distinctive home with an exotic flair.
