A Tradition of Excellence in Golf

In many ways, the rich history of golf at The Sea Pines Resort is directly intertwined with, and largely responsible for, the international renown this distinctive Hilton Head golf resort enjoys today. Designed in 1962, The Sea Pines Resort's Atlantic Dunes By Davis Love Ⅲ holds the honored distinction as the first golf course in Hilton Head, South Carolina.

Following the completion of the Sea Marsh course in 1964 and Harbour Town Golf Links in 1969, Sea Pines founder Charles E. Fraser hosted the inaugural Heritage golf tournament (now known as the PGA TOUR's RBC Heritage) at Harbour Town Golf Links and invited golf icons, such as Arnold Palmer, to attend. Palmer secured the first place trophy and The Sea Pines Resort became world-famous as the hands-down champion of Hilton Head Island golf resorts.

The Sea Marsh course has been meticulously redesigned by respected course architect Pete Dye, re-emerging as Heron Point by Pete Dye ... a challenging, but fair layout considered nothing short of a modern masterpiece.

All three courses at The Sea Pines Resort have achieved designation as a Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary and are continually ranked among the best courses in the U.S. and the world.

Harbour Town Golf Links annually attracts many of the world's greatest professional players and thousands of spectators to its RBC Heritage golf tournament, South Carolina's only PGA TOUR event, and was named #2 by PGA TOUR players in a Golf Digest / Golf World survey regarding "Top 10 PGA TOUR Courses" (2012).
